What are the pitfalls of buying property in Bulgaria?

I’ve fallen in love with Bulgaria and its people. Over the years I’ve been on holiday to most parts of the country.

Cost of living and property prices are just some of the attractions for buying a place in Bulgaria as a second home, and maybe retire out there one day. But I’m guessing things are not as straightforward as buying in the UK.

Any guidance would be much appreciated.
