        For UK citizens like me, ie non-resident property buyers in Portugal these are the one’s I’m aware of.

        • Transfer tax and stamp duty
        • Annual ‘wealth tax’ if the property is valued over €600,000
        • Possibly capital gains tax in both the UK and Portugal
        • Inheritance taxes

        I would highly recommend you get some help with your cross-border tax planning to ensure you get things setup correctly to minimise your tax obligations and be able to sleep at night!
