      I’m buying a property in Alicante later this year. Do I still need a Spanish bank account to buy a property, if I can pay all my bills etc from my euro account with the currency company?

        Hi Carley,

        Officially there is no requirement to open a Spanish bank account when buying a proprety. However, it is highly recommended you open a Spanish bank account as early as possible.

        A Spanish bank account will help you comply with Spain’s money laundering. Also, it will help with paying expenses, utility charges and local taxes.
