I’m in need of medication on regular basis, I have a pre-existing health condition. How do things work in Cyprus, specifically with prescriptions, costs etc.?
Many thanks for your help

If the meds are required long term, a doctor will often write a prescription for 3 or even 6 months supply, but the pharmacy will only give you one months supply at a time and record the date on the prescription when you need to pickup the next month’s supply, so you will need to keep the prescription.
Each return will cost €1.
Visits to the GP or a Consultant will cost €6 per visit and there is a €10 charge for any additional medical service (e.g. X Ray).
Each payment is known as a co-payment. The maximum number of co-payments you can make in a year is €150. That is the maximum amount you pay, you don’t pay any more for prescriptions or anything else for the rest of the year.
