Portugal › Finance, Currency, Insurance & Taxes › High bank charges sending money to Portugal
Hello All,
I’m buying an apartment in Albufeira and was horrified by the bank charges and their rates when I asked about sending money to Portugal. Can anyone advise me on the best way to send money to Portugal?
Cheers
John
Banks are getting better, but still not the best way to send money overseas.
I would recommend using foreign exchange specialist. There are loads of them out there.
We used these guys http://www.hawkfx.com.
They helped me protect the cost of my property by locking in the exchange rate for the balance payment.
I also got an excellent rate on the deposit payment.
Saved me over £2,700.
