        Most expats go for private healthcare cover in Bulgaria, as the country’s public healthcare infrastructure is limited, understaffed and underfunded. If you plan to use Bulgaria’s public healthcare system then you will be required to make contributions.

        Private healthcare in Bulgaria is much more advanced and better equipped. Bulgarian private healthcare is fairly cheap compared to many other EU nations. In fact, the country has grown as a destination for medical tourism. Cosmetic and dental procedures are popular. Most doctors at private healthcare institutions are also bilingual, so communicating in English is unlikely to be problem.
