Portugal › Buying, Moving, Owning & Living Overseas › Car Insurance in Portugal
We own a Portugese registered car, but hold (non-resident) UK driving licenses.
Do I need to tell the car insurance company that we do not hold a Portugese license?
And would we have to pay an extra premium if I take the car anywhere else in Europe eg Spain for a couple of weeks?

We bought our car while ago and are non-residents with UK driving licence. Wrote the insurance company letting them know.
Didn’t make any difference regarding the insurance as far as I remember.
On our insurance certificate there was a list of countries covered. Our one had Spain included. I’m guessing it will probably be the same for you
